About the Council

The Arizona Council of Human Service Providers is a 501(c)(6) membership association. We provide advocacy and support to over 100 behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice, and whole person integrated health care organizations across Arizona. These organizations range in size and scope and employ over 30,000 staff throughout more than 900 facilities and serve approximately 1 million community members across the state. 
 
  • Our Primary Function is to provide legislative and administrative advocacy for our member agencies
  • We Represent behavioral health, child welfare, whole person integrated health care, and juvenile justice organizations 
  • We Promote maintaining a comprehensive continuum of care to help Arizona’s children, adults, and families build lives of quality and self-sufficiency 
  • We Provide a collective voice for members to influence local, state, and federal public policy decisions both legislatively and administratively 
  • We Establish and Maintain strong relationships with elected officials, their staff, and state department staff (DES, DHS, AOC, etc.)
  • We Track and Analyze legislation (state and federal) that impacts the human service delivery system 
  • We Share information before, during, and after each legislative session, to help members become more effective advocates for their staff and service recipients 
  • We Build our legislative and administrative advocacy agendas based on input from members
