Executive Director's Message

The management team of NARSA/ IDEA is very aware of the stressful time we are living in due to the pandemic. Not only has it been frustrating on a personal level, but from a business standpoint, it has proposed challenges not seen by any of us in the business world. We are with you, so that is why NARSA/ IDEA has decided to offer a learning and networking opportunity that is COVID-19 safe. With support of the Board of Directors, NARSA/IDEA will hold its first virtual conference called VISION 20/20 on October 2-3. Virtual events have gained in popularity over the last 5 months and are becoming the norm during this pandemic. This event will be free to all members of NARSA/ IDEA. From the comfort of your office or home, you can participate in presentations designed to help you get through these most challenging times as well as connect with present and future vendors. The benefits of a virtual conference are: no travel to expose you to infection, no masks, no social distancing, beverages and food of your choice. Also, you can come and go in the virtual platform as you like and you get to visit with friends, colleagues, sponsors and exhibitors as it fits your schedule. It will offer flexibility an in-person event cannot allowing your entire organization to gain access to the programs they feel are relevant. We hope you will join us for this event.

In other news, some of our members may have received a dues renewal notice after you already paid your dues. Please accept our apology as we have started to migrate information into a new association management system and website. Once the member information was uploaded, the system automatically generated and emailed renewal notices. All dues renewal payments were received and credited to your account in our existing system.

We are excited for the creation of a new website and implementation of a new association management system which we will launch soon. Along with a new website that will better serve our members, we will also have a service repair forum available for all members to use anytime they have a technical or service-related question.

These are just a couple of the items NARSA/ IDEA is working on to add value to your membership. We realize there is no substitute for in-person networking and socializing, however, we are committed to keeping our members safe. We hope you will join us for the VISION 20/20 virtual event.

Please stay safe and healthy.

Members In Action

IDEA member GESI (Whitby, Ontario) was recently interviewed by The Heavy-Duty Parts Report to discuss the diesel emissions industry, business approaches, and why DPFXFit stands out among its competition.

Check out this photo from NARSA member Central de Radiadores de Monterrey (Nuevo Leon, Mexico). Technicians there did general maintenance on a Caterpillar radiator.

Emission & Cooling Systems, LLC (Memphis, Tennessee) sent us this photo from a recent job at a brewery to service a SPXFlow/APV gasket plate heat exchanger which had seen better days. They cleaned the frame and tie bars, and installed a new set of plates and gaskets.
