As many of you know, NARSA/IDEA wrapped up a two-day virtual event which was attended by more people than any in person event the association has hosted in the last 12 years. Vision 20/20 was a success, and as much as we are all clamoring to return to in person events with a desire for personal interaction with friends and colleagues, we are living in a different world. The one thing that being in business taught me was everything is subject to change in a blink of an eye. The NARSA/ IDEA Board of Directors recognizes our strength as an association is the knowledge our members have and are willing to share.
NARSA/ IDEA’s vision is to provide one idea, one opportunity and one connection that can make a difference in your business life. As radiator shops had to develop new business plans in the late 80s, NARSA/IDEA now finds it necessary to change the way in which we deliver information. The association in the upcoming months will become more digital as we fulfill our responsibility to our members. It won’t be easy, but it is necessary in order to continue to offer our members the value they expect from being a member of a trade association.
Our focus is creating useful content for our members. Please be on the lookout for a new webinar series and podcast as well as more training materials on our website.

All New Cars & Passenger Trucks Sold in California be Zero-Emission Vehicles by 2035
SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he will aggressively move the state further away from its reliance on climate change-causing fossil fuels while retaining and creating jobs and spurring economic growth – he issued an executive order requiring sales of all new passenger vehicles to be zero-emission by 2035 and additional measures to eliminate harmful emissions from the transportation sector.
The transportation sector is responsible for more than half of all of California’s carbon pollution, 80 percent of smog-forming pollution and 95 percent of toxic diesel emissions – all while communities in the Los Angeles Basin and Central Valley see some of the dirtiest and most toxic air in the country.
“This is the most impactful step our state can take to fight climate change,” said Governor Newsom. “For too many decades, we have allowed cars to pollute the air that our children and families breathe. Californians shouldn’t have to worry if our cars are giving our kids asthma. Our cars shouldn’t make wildfires worse – and create more days filled with smoky air. Cars shouldn’t melt glaciers or raise sea levels threatening our cherished beaches and coastlines.”

Press Release
(Nashville, Tennessee) — Thermal Solutions Manufacturing announces the addition of a new Protective Coating System for Copper/Brass, Steel and Aluminum products. It is called Core Coat™
Core Coat™ protects all heat exchangers from exposure to harsh environmental conditions such as salt, chemical, oils and agricultural fertilizers to name a few. This cost effective, multi part process has been proven to extend the life of all Heat Transfer equipment. Core Coat™ is sprayed directly onto the core. Additionally, it can be sprayed onto the tanks, and side pieces to protect the entire unit and will not diminish cooling performance.
Roland Ewert, Vice President of Sales and Marketing further explains that this process is very cost effective and will add life to cooling products operating in less than ideal conditions. Roland goes on to mention that this process is done in house at their Dallas facility which means they can turn special Core Coat™ orders quickly.
